Awareness, Relaxation and Fun!
Healing Hearts Bodywork is excited about offering our Rosen Method Movement classes.
Rosen Method Movement is a very low-impact exercise class. It uses movements from physical therapy set to music. Movements are simple; yet, enable greater body awareness, freer breathing, increased flexibility, and better joint mobility and balance. Accompanying music makes the movements feel even easier and more enjoyable. Classes are fun, stress-releasing, and energizing (they do not constitute an exhausting or sweaty workout). Class participants leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and more in touch with themselves.
Rosen Method Movement classes can be taught to people of all ages, sizes and abilities. By moving together as a group we offer each other support and community. Rosen Movement classes are about being aware of your body moving, feeling your body moving and relaxing your body as it moves. Marion Rosen started this form of movement in response to her physical therapy clients who used to ask her if there was anything they could do to prevent future injuries. The classes are made up of stretches, joint mobilizations and dance-like movements that are done to music.
The teacher is trained to notice where students are holding back as they move. According to the observations, the teacher introduces specific movements. Over time, this helps facilitate the student's ability to dissolve the barriers that keep them from moving freely.
Enjoyment of movement is the emphasis of Rosen Method Movement classes. After a 60-minute class, students are laughing, more light-hearted and feeling renewed.
