Why Is It Necessary to Fill Out Health History Forms?
It's important for our therapists to understand your health situation. It lets us know when or where on your body massage might not be appropriate. It helps us to design a bodywork session with your particular needs in mind.

What Do I Wear?
Comfortable attire is optimal. However, keep in mind that after your therapist shows you into the massage treatment room you will be given time in total privacy to disrobe to the level you feel most comfortable and get under the top sheet on the massage table. Draping (being covered with a sheet during your massage) is required. Some clients feel most comfortable leaving their underwear on while some like to leave on additional clothing and others like to remove all their clothing. It's most important to feel safe and comfortable. Your therapist can work with you easily regardless of how much clothing you choose to wear. Please bear in mind that you will be kept covered at all times, except for the one area of your body that is being worked on. When the massage on a particular area has been completed, that area will be covered up with the sheet and the next area will be uncovered and worked with.
What If I'm Uncomfortable During My Massage?
A common reason some people have bad experiences in massage is because they didn't want to say anything to the massage therapist during their session in regards to any way in which they are uncomfortable. Please do not hesitate to let your therapist know immediately if you're too cold or hot, the volume of the music is too loud or soft, or the amount of pressure being used is too hard or not hard enough, if you'd like to have the face rest adjusted, or if you feel uncomfortable in any way. This time is for you and we strive to make your experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Your massage therapist will keep her comments to a minimum. She will check in with you in regards to your general overall comfort and to see if you are comfortable with the amount of pressure being applied. Your therapist will never be offended if you make a request to make your experience more comfortable for you.

Silence or Talking During Your Massage?
In general, we find that providing quiet during massage sessions is most beneficial. This allows you to become more aware of your body and the tension you carry. It also allows for a fuller experience of rest and relaxation. It is completely up to you, the client, as to whether you want to talk with your therapist during your massage. Your therapist will not engage you in conversation. If you would like to talk, the therapist will follow your lead and talk with you only if you choose to lead the conversation. Your therapist will not be offended if you let her know you just want to relax quietly. Your need/desire for quiet will be respected.
Will only one massage session help me?
You can definitely get very good results from a single session of bodywork. Sometimes people may not notice a significant difference immediately following their bodywork, but the next day feel great! The way to get the maximum benefit from bodywork is if you come in regularly. Some of the positive effects are cumulative. Receiving regular massage as part of your wellness care is an effective way to help maintain good health and well-being. Scheduling appointments once a month or even once every six weeks is certainly beneficial. If you have a lot of stress or muscle tightness you may need to come in more frequently in the beginning to help get your body ready for routine maintenance wellness care.
We realize that not everyone has the time or inclination to make bodywork a regular part of their wellness care plan. We are just as happy to welcome our clients who come in only once a year as well as those who choose to visit more frequently.

I've seen ads for places charging much lesser rates for one hour massages. Why are your rates more expensive?
When it comes to bodywork, this is one area that you usually get what you pay for. The massage therapists get very low pay at those more inexpensive places, so they often hire students just out of school. Their standards are usually low when it comes to what they require for the training, skills and experience. Many places charge extra for deep tissue or advanced work if it is even available. When the extra fees are added on, the cheaper rate does not apply. We strive to make your experience as pleasant and relaxing as possible; in part, this means providing a pleasing and relaxing atmosphere that will promote peace, tranquility and harmony. Another "hidden" difference in costs is that many of the cheaper places that offer one-hour sessions are actually only providing 50-minutes instead of one hour. You get what you pay for - at Healing Hearts Bodywork you will definitely get what you pay for and we guarantee your satisfaction with a money-back guarantee.
Can I give Feedback About My Massage?
If you have any questions, concerns or comments before, after, or during your massage in regards to any part of your visit with us, we encourage you to please let us know. We take great pride in providing an excellent massage experience and enhancing your well-being. We welcome your feedback.
Please Note:
Bodywork and massage are defined as the application of various techniques to the muscular structure and soft tissues of the human body. This work includes various forms of touch therapies that may use manipulation of the muscles and soft tissue, and movement and/or repatterning to affect structural changes to the body. A body-mind or whole body approach may be used. Bodywork and massage specifically exclude diagnosis, prescription, manipulation or adjustments of the skeletal structure or any other service, procedure or therapy which requires a license to practice (other than a massage therapy license).
